Kids on Bach!

The mission of the Bach Academy  is to nurture children in the appreciation of the music life and times of the great composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. The Bach Academy includes boys and girls, ages eight through fourteen. The spectrum of Academy students are drawn from those studying music, as well as those with little or no musical experience. All that is required is an interest in the life and music of Bach.

A sampling of Academy events and activities:

• Group singing

• Student speakers returning from a German tour of Bach cities

• Musical performances

• Baroque Dancing

• Readers theatre

• Children's games played in during the time of Bach

• All-day field trip to Carmel Bach Festival including:

- Meet the Bach Festival Youth Chorus
- Meet the people behind the Festival
- Pizza Party
- An evening concert at the Festival

We are excited to share this special relationship between Vine Hill Public School in Scotts Valley and the Carmel Bach Festival. We want to share with the world the great music of Bach, and how exciting it has been to discover the music, and to get to know Germany, the land of Bach, and the great music at the Carmel Bach Festival.
