J.S. Bach was certainly a family man. He had 20 children, the largest family of any of the great composers. Nine of his children lived to adulthood, and several became renowned composers themselves.

Each spring, the Festival invites music students to submit
applications for our Young Artist Auditions. Repertoire for these auditions focuses on music (instrumental or vocal) by Bach, Handel, and all other Baroque composers (1600-1750).

 

These auditions are open to all students 19 or younger who reside in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. Auditions are by appointment only, and the application deadline is March 31, 2008.

 

 The auditions will be held on April 12 and 13 in Carmel. The winners of the auditions will be invited to perform in the Festival's sixth annual Young Artist Concert on Saturday August 2.
