Talent works, genius creates.

– Robert Schumann

Youthful Energy!

In 2004, the Bach Festival Youth Chorus was created by Festival Education Director David Gordon.

2008 will mark the fifth anniversary of the Bach Festival Youth Chorus. Talented local high school students audition to become a part of this exciting choral opportunity. In recent years the Youth Chorus has performed a commissioned work, joined the Festival Chorale in performing one of the opening night cantatas, as well as performing extremely challenging

a cappella repertoire from the choral canon, under the direction of John Koza. The Youth Chorus performs educational outreach concerts, a Family Concert and their own Twilight Concert.

To schedule an audition, please send an email to Festival Youth Chorus Director John Koza

Audition Requirements: Students should prepare an art song or aria of their choice (please be sure to bring a copy for the accompanist).  Students will be asked to sing a major triad, minor triad, major scale, and a chromatic scale.  There will also be a tonal memory exercise and a short sight-reading exercise.
