Composer, Jazz Piano – Carmel, CA

A native of Rio de Janiero, Weber Iago is a prolific composer, arranger and pianist, appearing regularly at jazz festivals and other events around the world. He has been the opening performer for jazz greats such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dianne Reeves, and Terence Blanchard.

He has composed for and performed with renowned flautist Keith Underwood and recently completed popular engagements with Brazilian vocalist Marcia Maria in Italy, Luxembourg and Belgium. Since 1991 Weber has made numerous appearances at the Monterey Jazz Festival, most recently in 2005 with the Carla Bley Big Band. Weber Iago premiers a new composition Jazz Concertino for Piano and String Orchestra at the Festival’s Concerts on the Bay series.
